Welcome to the Sacred Heart Parents’, Teachers’ and Friends’ Association (PTFA).
As secondary school parents, we all know how difficult it is to get involved in school life, particularly as we no longer meet at the school gate like we did in primary school. However, despite these difficulties, we are always seeking new ways of encouraging parents to get involved, be it in fundraising, volunteering your time or donating raffle prizes.
PFTA History
The PTFA was registered as a charity on 11th November 1973 as The Upminster Convent School Parents’ Teacher’s and Friends’ Association. The committee has been instrumental in raising funds for the maintenance of the minibuses, lighting equipment in the hall and other developments within the school in recent times.
Who are the PTFA
Currently there is not a PTFA – we would really be grateful if parents could support the re starting this organisation in order to raise much needed funds for the school.

500 Club
Ever heard of a 500 Club? It’s pretty simple – it gives you the chance to win money every month, while also making a donation to the school.
For £10 each month, you will be allocated a number between 1 and 500. A draw will be made every month, one month in arrears, and the prizes will total 25% of the annual income. The 500 Club is a private lottery and is open to all parents, carers, staff and friends of the school. Anyone aged 18 or over can join, and payments must be made by Standing Order.
While this is not eligible for gift aid (as participants are entering a draw to win a prize), all parents are asked to register for Gift Aid when they first sign into SCOPAY as certain things are counted as donations; for example, the annual school fund.
If you would like to get involved in the 500 Club, please print and complete this form, and return it to Kerry Jones at school, or scan in and email to [email protected].
