Sacred Heart of Mary has the privilege of having a team of “pupil chaplains” in years 12 and 13. With support from the RE Department and Chaplaincy lead, the team has led whole school initiatives during our annual week of prayer to ensure service to Christ lies at the heart of our community.
Our pupil chaplains specialise in one of four different aspects of Chaplaincy Service:
- Assemblies and Liturgies – Preparing of and contributing to assemblies and liturgies
- Charities – Organisation of Charity events including ticket sales, ideas, contacting charities, organising volunteers
- Public Relations – General promotion of Chaplaincy – Posters / sending emails to promote charity events, Weekly theme of the week prayer and picture on Social media
- Displays – Chaplaincy board display, Corridor of Prayer Displays for Week of Prayer, Preparing resources for Week of Prayer, Displays in entrance hall for liturgical events in the year
It is a credit to the girls and to the school that there is a team each year who are willing to voluntarily help with the spirituality of the school and ensure our pupils can live life to the full and bring life to the full to others.
