Welcome to the Sacred Heart Parents’, Teachers’ and Friends’ Association (PTFA) page!
As secondary school parents, we all know how difficult it is to get involved in school life, particularly as we no longer meet at the school gate as we did in primary school. However, despite these difficulties, we are always seeking new ways of encouraging parents to get involved, be it in fundraising, volunteering your time or raffle prizes.
PFTA History
The PTFA was registered as a charity on 11th November 1973 as The Upminster Convent School Parents’ Teacher’s and Friends’ Association. The committee has been instrumental in raising funds for the maintenance of the minibuses, lighting equipment in the hall and other developments within the school in recent times.
Who are the PTFA
As the current PTFA, we are keen to keep the legacy alive by engaging with all parents, teachers and friends by raising funds for all the different requirements of the school, especially during the difficult financial environment in which schools find themselves.
We are a group of parents who currently meet at least four times each year (usually in the Staff Room), with an AGM taking place at the beginning of each school year. The PTFA Committee is currently made up of the listed officers below:
Chairperson – Liz Allen
Vice Chairperson – Renee Paris
Secretary – Joao Couto
Treasurer – Margaret Mangwende
These roles ensure that a coordinated approach is taken in organising events and communication to everyone. We are looking to create a few more roles to allow more people to get involved, please contact us via email on [email protected] if you are interested in taking part.
